Dr. Okin has worked extensively with children and adolescents in foster care, as well as adults, adolescents, and children with trauma disorders, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and additional challenges. She practices evidence-based treatment from a multicultural and culturally sensitive perspective. Dr. Okin utilizes a therapeutic assessment model for psychological evaluations, emphasizing collaboration with the client, which allows them to gain insight, make informed decisions and best advocate for their needs. She conducts comprehensive psychological, parenting, and psychoeducational evaluations for adults, adolescents, and children, and has experience with forensic settings.

Dr. Okin’s research has focused primarily on acculturation and its effect on psychological functioning. As a doctoral intern, she helped research and develop a parenting intervention program to address challenges in discipline of young children.
